Former Pupil Acting Success

Jack Boyle, now 23, graduated from QUB with a 2:1 in Drama. He performed as an actor from a young age and from the age of 17 has successfully performed in the Grand Opera House, Belfast Waterfront, The Mac and most recently the Lyric Theatre. After finishing university Jack attended the Lyric Drama Studio to develop his acting training further, leading to his performance as Don Hernando in Helen Edmundson's The Heresy of Love. It was in this role that Jack was spotted by his agent and he now works as a professional actor in NI through Independent Agency. Jack returned to the Lyric in April 2018 to perform in Dr Scroggy's War, directed by Philip Crawford (Head of Creative Learning), playing the French Marshal Joseph Joffre. Jack continues to pursue his professional acting career through theatre, television and film, whilst also taking opportunities to teach and facilitate drama and acting to younger students. Further details on The Lyric Drama Studio are available from lyrictheatre.co.uk/creative-learning. There is considerable competition for places on the course with approximately 70 applications each year for 12 places. In the last 7 years 33 young actors have been successful in gaining places to the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, RADA, The Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, the Guildhall School of Music and Drama and the Lir Academy.
