Saphara Project 2014

Saphara is a Christian charity with a mission statement of ‘Journey with a Purpose’ and is involved in supporting and enabling many aspects of education for the poor in India. Six pupils from Belfast High School - Connor Elliott, Rachel Garford, Katie Garrett, Amita Gibi, Danielle Humphreys and Christopher Ringland - have been selected as part of the Belfast Team for 2014, along with 18 pupils from Aquinas Grammar School, Dominican College and St Malachy’s College. They leave on 3 July 2014 for their 16 day trip.

On Saturday 9 November all 60 pupils who make up the 3 teams from across Northern Ireland met for their first team building day. Sessions included building a famous landmark, Bollywood dancing, a quiz based on India and finally an information session for pupils and parents on travel, language, health, insurance, dress code and fundraising. The pupils are pictured with Dr Wood who will lead the Belfast High School Saphara Team.
