Key Stage 3
All classes at this key stage use notation through keyboards. Listening/composing topics include Instruments of the Orchestra, Jazz, Musical Arrangements and Movie Music.  Apart from work on the keyboards, pupils also experience practical music-making through Samba drumming and Ukuleles. Lessons also introduce pupils to Music IT through using GarageBand software on MAC computers in the Music IT suite.

GCSE Music (Examining Board: CCEA)
Pupils complete four areas of study as well as undertaking composing and performing tasks.

AS and A2 Music (Examining Board: CCEA)
Pupils complete set works/topics as well as undertaking composing and performing tasks.

Facilities and Resources

Accommodation consists of a main teaching room and keyboard room (both with data projectors), Music IT Suite with 4 PC’s and 9 MAC computers using Garageband and Sibelius software and 6 practice rooms.
